Silent auction in aid of WaterAid

Bell Street Antiques is delighted to announce a silent auction of a wide variety of prints, etchings, lithographs, paintings and drawings by the artist and print maker, Christopher Browne, work spanning over six decades.

The artist’s proceeds from the silent auction will be donated to WaterAid.

Christopher studied Art at London Polytechnic and then printmaking at the Royal Academy, from 1955 to 1958. After taking an art teaching diploma the following year and studying art history at the Slade, Christopher taught art and art history in various schools and colleges for nearly 30 years, including Southampton and Salisbury art colleges and Cranborne Chase school.

Alongside his teaching career, he continued to engage in his own artistic explorations with ceramics, printmaking and life drawing.

We have over 100 signed limited edition screenprints, linoprints, lithographs, etchings and drawings by Christopher available in the silent auction which is running until 14th September 2025.

The works are available to view at our shop in Shaftesbury, Dorset (Bell Street Antiques, 1 Bell Street, Shaftesbury, Dorset, SP7 8AR) or you can see them here. Most of the pieces are unframed however a small number are framed.

Simply send your details with your best and final bid along with the artwork number and title below, to hello@bellstreetantiques.com. If your bid is successful we will contact you to let you know on the 15th September and contact you to arrange payment. Artworks can be collected from our shop in Shaftesbury from 16th September onwards.

Minimum bid is £40.00 (GBP) per artwork.
